Reno Dumpster Rentals FAQ

How much does dumpster rental cost in Reno?

The 15 yard dumpster rental in Reno is $430, and the 20 yard is $480. Both are flat rate, so the price you hear on the phone is the price you pay. Each rental includes 7 days, 2 tons, delivery, pickup, and all dump fees.

If you pay by credit card, a 3% processing fee applies. Cash, check, Zelle, and Venmo skip it, so most of our Reno customers go that route.

Planning to toss food waste? Just let us know ahead of time.

For anything beyond the basics, like extra weight, extra days, fridges, or TVs, see the Extra Charges section below. We can take small amounts of heavy material, though large quantities of concrete, rock, dirt, or gravel are more than these containers are built for.

There are no hidden fees, and delivery, pickup, and dump fees are already built into your price. These are the only charges that can ever get added, and every one of them is avoidable once you know about it:

Extra days: $25 per day, or $150 per week, after the included 7 days. Need a little more time? Call the office and we will work with you.

Extra weight: $70 per ton over the included 2 tons, up to a 5 ton maximum.

Special items: TVs are $20 each. Refrigerators and AC units with Freon are $60 each, since those have to be handled separately.

Food waste is fine. Just mention it when you book so we can plan the drop off, since it goes to a different section of the landfill. There is no extra charge.

Hazardous items: we are not able to take these. Reno residents can drop them off at HERO Environmental Services, and we are always happy to point you in the right direction.

Every Reno dumpster rental includes a full 7 days, which is plenty of time for most projects. If you finish early, give us a call and we will come pick it up early at no charge.

If you need more time, just reach out before your scheduled pickup day. Extra time runs $25 per day or $150 per week. Most people never need it, but it is there if your project runs long.

Two categories to know about, and neither one is complicated.

Heavy material. We can take small amounts of concrete, rock, dirt, and gravel, so a few buckets is no problem at all. A yard or more is where it becomes an issue, because a single yard of dirt or concrete weighs close to a ton by itself and would use up your entire allowance. Small roofing tear offs, a modest stack of tile, and tree branches or rounds are all welcome.

Hazardous items. This covers anything corrosive, explosive, flammable, or poisonous. The four we run into most often are wet paint, car batteries, gas, and oil. Reno residents can recycle these at HERO Environmental Services.

Looking at something and not sure which pile it falls in? Just call and describe it to us. We would much rather answer the question than have you guess.

Every dumpster rental in Reno includes 2 tons, which comes out to 4,000 lbs. That covers the large majority of cleanouts, and it is more weight than most people picture. For a sense of scale, a typical refrigerator runs about 300 lbs, and a Toyota Camry is around 3,200 lbs.

If you do go over 2 tons, it is $70 per additional ton, up to a 5 ton maximum. Going over is not a problem at all, it simply costs a little more.

Heavy material is the one thing to watch out for. We are not set up for heavy hauling, so large amounts of concrete, rock, dirt, or gravel are not a fit for these containers. A few buckets is no problem. A yard or more is, because a single yard of dirt or concrete weighs close to a ton by itself and would use up your whole allowance before you added anything else. If your Reno project involves any of that, give us a call first and we will help you sort out the right plan.

The 15 yard holds about 7 pickup truck loads and is a good fit for a single room remodel, a garage cleanout, or a smaller landscaping project. The 20 yard holds about 10 loads and tends to be the better call for a full home cleanout, a roof tear off, or a larger renovation.

Here is the part worth knowing. Both containers are 14 feet long and 8 feet wide, so they take up exactly the same space in your Reno driveway. The 20 yard is simply one foot taller. Going bigger costs you nothing in room, and the extra capacity is only $50.

When it is a close call, most of our customers end up happier with the 20. If you are still unsure, describe your project when you call and we will give you an honest recommendation, even when that means pointing you to the smaller one.

Reno Junk Removal

Junk Removal

Since 2018, PDK has been hauling junk throughout Reno, from a single item sitting in the garage all the way to a full property cleanout. We bring the 20 yard container and we do the loading ourselves, which usually means your whole job leaves in one trip instead of three. Realtors across Reno and the rest of Northern Nevada call us for same day pickups when a deal is closing and a tenant left furniture behind. If you would rather not touch any of it, this is the service you want.

minor reno demolition.

Demolition

Alongside our dumpster rentals, we handle light teardown work across Reno. That includes sheds, cabinets, carpet, hot tubs, and manufactured homes. Realtors bring us in after a tenant moves out to pull carpet and cabinets and clear out whatever got left behind. Because we bring the 20 yard trailer with us, the teardown and the haul away happen the same day. No pile sitting in the yard waiting on a second truck.
